Irrigation system fails at Legacy Park in north Lethbridge
LETHBRIDGE, AB – City crews will be bringing in a temporary irrigation system at Legacy Park in north Lethbridge, after a serious failure in the regular system this spring rendered it completed unable to deliver any water to the grass.
It was just opened to the public about a year ago.
Parks Manager David Ellis says while the grass has turned brown, it’s not dead and can be revived once watering resumes in the 73-acre park.
“We’ve been working on a solution for a little bit. It takes some time to get all of this arranged because it’s essentially building a new delivery system. We’d hoped that June would be a little kinder for us in terms of rainfall and keep the park a little bit greener.”
