UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch ended

LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: Environment Canada has lifted the below-mentioned severe thunderstorm notice.

Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches for most southern regions in Alberta.

Some of the effected communities include Lethbridge, Coaldale, Coalhurst, Milk River, Raymond, Warner, Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park, Taber, Vauxhall, Vulcan, Brooks, Cardston, Magrath, Fort Macleod, High River, and Claresholm.

The weather forecaster says thunderstorms will develop this afternoon along the foothills south of Calgary and eastward along a cold front.
