LETHBRIDGE, AB – Drivers in west Lethbridge can let out a sigh of relief.

The City has announced that construction is complete along McMaster Boulevard West and Mt. Burke Boulevard West and the road is open again to northbound and southbound traffic.

The road project is part of the construction plans for the new Fire Station #5, as crews build up Great Bear Boulevard, which is where the new station will be located.

The sidewalk on the west side of the Macleod Drive West/Mt. Burke Boulevard West/McMaster Boulevard W. intersection is also open and includes new wheelchair ramps.

However, work is continuing on Macleod Drive West and the east pedestrian crossing, but that construction is anticipated to wrap up by July 22, weather permitting.

When construction first began, complaints and concerns were brought up by residents, as the construction conflicted with work being done along nearby University Drive.
