Lethbridge –– They’ve been around for quite a while – not the vehicles, the Street Wheelers Car Club. Granted, many of the vehicles are older than the club..
The common denominator for the roughly three dozen members of the club, both men and women, is their loves of cars. The club was founded in 1976 and a couple years later, the Street Machine weekend was born, as a way for members to share their interest.
The Street Machine weekend has grown over the years, from the Friday night cruise along third Avenue and Mayor Magrath Drive and Sunday’s Show-and-Shine in Galt Gardens, to include a Thursday night Drive-in movie and Saturday’s 100 Foot Dash.
