Coaldale & Lakeview Bakeries in running for “Sweetest Bakery in Canada” contest

COALDALE, AB – Two bakeries from southern Alberta are in the running for a major national competition.

Lexy Mcaulay is a cake decorator with the Coaldale Bakery and believes that they are worthy of taking the crown.

“We have an awesome reputation and we work really hard for that reputation. One of the best parts about working here is when you tell people you work here, they get so excited. Everybody loves it here and it’s a really great place to be.”

They are a full production bakery, meaning they do not just specialize in one or two types of products.

Every baked good offered at the Coaldale Bakery is made fresh and in store every day.

The contest is put on by Dawn Food Products.

The national winner will get to attend a three-day expo where staff get a one-on-one session with Dawn’s head decorators. There will also be one winner from each province that will get to display plaques in their store along with specialized products and training.

Votes can be submitted once per day until September 30th on the Sweetest Bakery In Canada website or by texting “SBC5026” to the number 393939.

At the time of publication, Lakeview Bakery in Lethbridge has not returned a request for an interview with Lethbridge News Now.
