LETHBRIDGE, AB – Travel Alberta is gearing up to highlight local food from across the province.

“The Alberta landscape provides an incomparable bounty of products from plants to proteins and from grain to glass – everything needed for an unforgettable experience,” reads a media release from the group.

They will be showcasing 30 restaurants from August 9-18 with each offering a fixed menu of locally-produced items.

Lethbridge’s participating businesses are Mocha Cabana Bistro and the Water Tower Grill.

The dine around program “features menus ranging from fine dining to family friendly with 3-course lunches for $19 or $29 and/or three-course dinners $29 or $39”.

Local ingredients can include Alberta beef, milk, honey, and wheat.

The city will also play host to a “Lethbridge City forage & apple cider event”. Tannis Baker with Food Tourism Strategies says there will be a city-wide fruit tree forage where the fruits that are picked will be made into a cider at a local brewery. The details are still being finalized for this event.
