Changes coming to transit routes 23/24

Aug 6, 2019 | 12:55 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – All aboard a new transit route.

The City of Lethbridge has announced that transit route 23/24 will be re-aligned to a corridor that is more central to residential and shopping areas.

The Lethbridge Transit route currently moves along Scenic Drive, offering few place for residents to get on and off. Starting August 28, the route will follow Stafford Drive with more opportunities for riders to access homes and retail areas.

Signs will be posted and can be viewed at the impacted bus stops starting this week.

Route 23 will travel south on Stafford Drive instead of west on 9 Avenue North, south on Scenic Drive or east 4 Avenue South.

Route 24 will no longer be traveling west on 4 Avenue, north on Scenic Drive or west on 9 Avenue North. Instead, the bus will travel north using Stafford Drive.

The schedule for the two affected routes will remain the same. They will be at the City Centre terminal at the top and bottom of the hour and the north terminal at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour, according to the City.

As a result of this change, transit stops will be removed along Scenic Drive and 9 Avenue North.
