The Lethbridge Police Critical Incident Response Team was called to a home in Highland Park, along the 800 blk of 20 St. N around 7:30 p.m.

Police officers, with their guns drawn, surrounded the home for more than three hours, and told all residents in the area to stay in their homes. They negotiated with a man via loudspeaker, asking him to think “think about the kids,” and referring to a female who also may have been in the home.

He was arrested around 10:45 p.m. and is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
