Parking fines at Lethbridge College increase to $50 as of September 1st
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge City Council has given their thumbs up to a motion to make parking violations more expensive at Lethbridge College (LC).
Currently, parking at LC without a permit or in an area where you are not allowed will get you a fee of $30. If you pay within seven days, the fine is reduced to $15.
LC Communications Specialist Paul Kingsmith previously told Lethbridge News Now that the current fine structure is not much of a deterrent, and adds that some students have risked getting a ticket because it was cheaper than paying for a pass.
“We just want to make sure that spots on campus are available for those who are paying for spots, that there is ample parking available for those who are playing by the rules and parking on the campus, whether it be a student or an employee or a guest, and just provide a little bit more of a deterrent for those who are parking illegally,” said Kingsmith.
