LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Green Party of Canada has their representative for this fall’s federal election.

Watson runs Sherlock & Watson Scientific, a Lethbridge-based company that provides accessible scientific information to the public, businesses, and governments, while working on their own environmental scientific research.

Although Watson was born and raised in Red Deer, she has spent the last 17 years in Lethbridge.

“I am excited to be given the chance to work for the people of the Lethbridge electoral district – to make voices that feel unheard, heard, deal with the misinformation being spread by current public figures and to put forth well researched ways to make our society sustainable and accessible to everyone,” says Watson

According to a provided press release, “Watson will hold sitting MP Rachael Harder and the Conservative Party of Canada accountable for their past and present positions on their environmental record, as well as their past on muzzling scientists.”

Watson also wants to address the party’s hand in implementing the Pheonix Pay system and would try to hold the current Liberal government accountable for their part in it as well.

Watson ran in the City of Lethbridge 2017 election, and although the run was unsuccessful, she told Lethbridge News Now that this experience reinforced her belief about misinformation and miscommunications with the public.

She has a Masters degree in Environmental Science from the University of Lethbridge.

Watson believes that this level of educational and professional experience gives her the ability to make and analyze policies effectively.

The 2019 federal election is set for October 21st, 2019.
