LETHBRIDGE –– A 27-year-old Lethbridge woman faces charges in connection with an armed robbery and two arsons. An arrest warrant has also been issued for a 32-year-old man for his role in the robbery. As well, the robbery investigation continues to identify a second male suspect.

Around 4:50 on the morning of August 16, a masked woman and man entered the Circle K/Esso gas station along the 300 block of Bluefox Boulevard North. The woman brandished a gun and demanded cash from the clerk, while the man stationed himself at the exit. The pair left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a dark colored vehicle, operated by a second man. The vehicle drove westbound from the area. The clerk was not injured.

In a second incident, around 9:56 on the evening of August 21, Police and Fire responded to a 911 call regarding a house fire along the 900 block of 9 Avenue North. Eighteen fire fighters from three stations responded and the fire was extinguished within an hour.

While crews were on scene, a woman approached a police officer and reported multiple fires inside her home – two blocks away – which she had put out herself. Fire crews went to the woman’s home along the 700 block of 9 Avenue North and spent 30 minutes extinguishing hot spots.

No one was injured in either fire. Damage from the fire along the 900 block of 9 Avenue North is estimated at $50,000 and the residence along the 700 block of 9 Avenue North sustained $20,000 damage. A fire investigator determined the fires were intentionally set.

An investigation by the Criminal Investigation Section, identified a Lethbridge woman as a suspect in both the robbery and arsons. On Saturday, August 24, 27-year old Tila Bailey Scout of Lethbridge was arrested at a city residence. She faces four charges: robbery with a firearm, disguised during the commission of an offence and two counts of arson to property.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 32-year old James Patrick Williams of Lethbridge. He is charged with robbery with a firearm, disguised during the commission of an offence and theft of a motor vehicle.
