Lethbridge police charge two city men in relation to a bike ‘chop shop’
LETHBRIDGE — The discovery of a bike “chop shop” has resulted in charges against two city men.
An ongoing investigation into bicycle thefts across Lethbridge lead police to seek a search warrant for a home in the 600-block of 21 Street north. Officers recovered numerous bicycles, some in a various states of disassembly or modification, as well as numerous bicycle parts. One man was also found in possession of methamphetamine.
While additional charges are pending, 58-year old Carl George Pohlmann, has initially been charged with theft under $5,000 and is scheduled to be in court Sept. 25.
As well, 40-year old Jesse Aron Tabor, faces initial charges of possession of a controlled substance and breach of a recognizance. He will be in court Sept. 13.
