Advanced Education Minister coming to Lethbridge College in September

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta is continuing its multi-ministerial consultation tour around the province, gaining feedback from residents.

This time, Advanced Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides will tour 18 post-secondary schools in the province, including a couple in Southern Alberta.

“While I have already had several meetings with post-secondary and student association leaders, it is important for me to visit each campus to engage with students, faculty, staff and leadership to listen and learn as the new minister,” says Nicolaides.

UPDATE: Officials at Lethbridge College have confirmed that the minister will be at the college from 8:30 am to 10:00 am on Friday, September 13th. “Our focus will be on showcasing our trades training, our research and innovation projects, and the economic impact that the college provides to the province,” reads an emailed statement from Senior Communications Specialist Paul Kingsmith.

Just prior to this, the Minister will go to Medicine Hat College on Thursday, September 12th.

“Post-secondary institutions are home to some of our province’s brightest thinkers and problem-solvers,” adds Nicolaides. “Together, we will determine the best ways to build the workforce of the future and support a stronger and growing economy.”

During each visit, he will vising the learning facilities and labs, learn more about daily operations, and invite feedback on a wide array of issues facing students and learning opportunities.
