LETHBRIDGE, AB – As September nears, the City of Lethbridge is getting set to close its outdoor pools and spray parks for the summer.

The Gyro Spray Park located behind Nicholas Sheran Arena and the Rotary Fountain in Galt Gardens are scheduled to be closed for the upcoming fall and winter season on Monday, September 9.

As for swimming – the Henderson Pool’s last day of operation is Monday, September 2. Visitors can enjoy the pool from 1 to 7 p.m. on the holiday, weather permitting.

Westminster Outdoor Public Pool, which is operated by the Westminster Neighborhood Association, will have its last day for humans on Sunday, September 1. On Monday, the pool will host the Paws in the Pool event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dogs who have all their vaccinations (including bordetella) will be allowed to swim in the pool along with a handler 18-year of age or older. Admission to the event is a $10. There will be a silent auction and charity barbeque with funds from the event going towards the Lethbridge and District Humane Society.

Prizes for the best dressed dog will also be up for grabs.

Both the Henderson and Westminster pools will reopen in June 2020.
