LETHBRIDGE, AB – Polling organization Ipsos is conducting a study on the community’s perceptions of organics waste collection.

Starting on Tuesday, September 3rd, residents may receive a call from Ipsos asking for their feedback.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes and will “give important insight into the communities’ thoughts around year-round organics (food and yard waste) collection service as well as other organic diversion programs.”

The group also hopes to measure peoples’ current behaviours around food and yard waste materials.

Back in November 2016, Lethbridge City Council asked administrators to start working on a plan for a curbside organics program.

The proposal is expected to come forward to the city this fall.

Information from the survey will serve as a baseline for future comparisons and will assist in decision making around a potential “green cart” program.
