Three city residents charged after high risk incident

LETHBRIDGE — The investigation continues but, two men and a woman, all from Lethbridge, face a string of charges after both the Priority Crime Unit and the Critical Incident Response Team seized 13 firearms and a significant amount of drugs late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning (Aug 5 and 6).

The charges resulted from an investigation and execution of a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Columbia Blvd W.

The investigation began on September 3, when a 29 year old man was arrested on outstanding warrants and found to be in possession of 33 grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of carfentanil with the drugs having an approximate street value of $3,500. A subsequent search warrant was then executed at the home on Columbia Blvd.

Along with the firearms at the residence, police also found evidence of a bicycle chop shop with previously reported stolen bikes and numerous parts of stolen bikes.

Adam Richard Filipcic, age 29, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, one count of possession of proceeds of crime and four counts of trafficking firearms. He was released from custody by a Justice of the Peace and will appear in court September 27.

Albert Henry Curtis, age 57, is charged with five counts of failing to report a lost or stolen firearm. He was released from custody by a Justice of the Peace and will be in court September 19.

Barbara-Rose Eileen Christensen, age 24, faces five counts of trafficking firearms and five counts of unauthorized possession of firearms. She was released from custody by a Justice of the Peace and will be in court September 10.
