Collision south of Grande Prairie claims life of Lethbridge woman

GRANDE PRAIRIE — Grande Prairie: RCMP confirm a 42-Year old woman from Lethbridge was killed and a Grande Prairie man is hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 40.

The incident happened around 1:00 a.m. Saturday, when a northbound pickup collided with a southbound semi. The collision near Goverdale closed the highway for several hours.

The woman driving the pickup and the 32-year-old man from Grande Prairie was taken to the QE II by STARS with life-threatening injuries.

Grande Prairie RCMP, along with an RCMP collision analyst continue to investigate the collision. No names have been released.
