CROWSNEST PASS, AB – One of the province’s new riding will have its second-ever election in October.

The constituency consists of the Crowsnest Pass, Claresholm, High River, Okotoks, Pincher Creek, and other rural communities in that area.

John Barlow came to power during the 2014 by-election as a member of the Conservative Party of Canada and was re-elected in the general election the year after.

This time around, he will have two opponents.

Bridget Lacey is running for the Green Party, having spent much of her life studying permaculture and regenerative agriculture. She also helped to develop ideas around the Green New Deal in Canada.

The brand new Peoples’ Party of Canada will have Gregory Hession as their local candidate. He is campaigning on a party platform of significantly-reduced taxes, less regulations, and lower overall levels of immigration.

Voting day in the 2019 federal election is October 21st.
