Woman in wheelchair reportedly robbed in Galt Gardens

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police Service are investigating a street robbery that was reported in Galt Gardens.

At approximately 1:48 am on Tuesday, September 17th, a 53-year-old woman told police that she was confronted by two unknown women earlier in the evening.

Officers claim the women approached her from behind and grabbed her wheelchair. One reportedly demanded cash and pried an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim’s hand.

According to the report, the woman was struck in the head with an object.

The suspects then fled northbound.

The women are described as being approximately 5’9″ and wearing Halloween masks, black hoodies, and black pants. One was said to have a high-pitched voice.
