COALDALE, AB – At approximately 10:20 pm on Monday, September 16th, RCMP were informed of a stolen vehicle from the Grassy Lake area east of the community.

They set up patrols in and near Coaldale, eventually finding the stolen white 2009 Toyota Corolla parked outside of a home on 19th Ave.

Since the vehicle was unoccupied at the time, officers waited until a man was found entering it.

He was arrested for possession of stolen property.

In addition to finding the car, RCMP also found a variety of stolen items inside, including credit cards, a passport, a laptop, and jewelry.

The items were linked to previous thefts from the Picture Butte, Raymond, and Taber areas.

Cayden McCray, 29, of Lethbridge, has been charged with 17 offences including possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and failing to comply with release conditions.

He has been scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court this Friday.
