29-year-old Lethbridge man charged with passing counterfeit $100 bills
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbrige Police have charged a local man with five counts of uttering counterfeit currency, possession of counterfeit currency, breach of an undertaking and possession of a controlled substance.
Several weeks ago, on Aug. 30, police responded to a report of a man and woman in a car, possibly prowling in the Kinsmen Park area. They the two who matched the description in the vehicle and arrested a man on breach of release conditions. They also found a fake $100 bill that matched the same serial number of several others passed in the city.
Police say the bills were passed at several businesses including 7-Eleven, Panago, No Frills and a Taber Corn stand between from Aug. 22 – 29.
Shaun David Dyck is scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Court Oct. 8.
