LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Canadian Hockey League has announced the second edition of the Vaughn CHL Team of the Week for the 2019-2020 season.

The team covers the period of games between Sept. 23 and 29. Three players from the Western Hockey League were acknowledged for their hard work, including Dylan Cozens of the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Cozens is joined by Vancouver Giants d-man Bowen Byram and Beck Warm, goaltender with the Tri-City Americans. Cozens posted six points in two games this past weekend with the Hurricanes.

The forward positions are filled out by Connor McMichael, a centreman with the London Knights of the OHL. McMichael posted five goals and two assists in back to back wins against the Erie Otters and Hamilton Bulldogs.

The 18-year-old was selected 25th overall by the Washington Capitals in this June’s NHL Draft.

Rimouski Oceanic (QMJHL) left-winger Alexis Lafreniere rounds out the forwards. He picked up two goals and five assists in two wins over the Sherbrooke Phoenix and Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Bowen Byram returned to the Giants after trying out with the Colorado Avalanche. He wrapped up the week with five points – all coming off assists – in three games.

The Vaughn CHL Team of the Week’s defense line is rounded out by Ilya Solovyov of the Saginaw Spirit. He scored one goal and dished out seven assists in three games. His five-point night against the Sarnia Sting earned him CHL Player of the Night honours.

In net is Beck Warm. Warm came away with two wins for the Americans, turning aside a combined 69 of 70 shots. He closed out the week with a 0.50 goals-against-average and .986 save percentage. His top performance was a 38-save shutout against the Spokane Chiefs.
