Lethbridge Hurricanes sign prospect Briley Wood

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed 16-year-old prospect Briley Wood to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

The product of Rivers, Manitoba, the 6’0″, 170 lb player was undrafted in the WHL Bantam Draft. According to the ‘Canes, he has appeared in two games this season with the Yellowhead Chiefs Midget AAA of the Manitoba Midget Hockey League.

Last year, he had 48 points and 40 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Chiefs. In six post-season games he recorded six points and eight penalty minutes.

The Hurricanes are back in action Friday, Oct. 4, taking on the Portland Winterhawks at the ENMAX Centre. The team is so far 2-2-0-1 in the regular season, while the Winterhawks are 3-0-0-0. Game time is 7 p.m.
