U of L and Lethbridge College Weekend Sports Preview: Oct. 4-6, 2019

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Below is a preview of some of the action you can catch this weekend, involving the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns and Lethbridge College Kodiaks.

LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE KODIAKS

The women’s volleyball team starts things up at 6:00 p.m. tonight (Friday Oct. 4) against the University of Alberta-Augustana as part of a tourney at Lakeland College.

It’s a busy weekend for the Kodiaks women’s volleyball team.

They face NAIT (12 p.m.) and Keyano College (5 p.m.) tomorrow (Saturday Oct. 5) and wrap up the weekend on Sunday against Briercrest College.

The men’s volleyball team has a light month, with only three games listed on the schedule. They face Ambrose University tomorrow (10 a.m.), with games against SAIT scheduled for the 18 and 19.

On the hardwood, the men’s basketball team meets SAIT at Stirling High School tonight at 8 p.m.

The women’s team, coming off a big 69-44 win over Okanagan, faces Concordia University of Edmonton at SAIT this evening (8 p.m.) before wrapping up the SAIT event against the Douglas College Royals tomorrow at 12 p.m.

In soccer, the men’s team faces SAIT tomorrow at 2 p.m., with a matchup against Olds College on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The women’s soccer squad faces SAIT tomorrow at noon and take on Olds College before the men’s crew at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

U OF L PRONGHORNS

The men’s soccer team, coming off a 2-0 loss against Mount Royal Thursday (Oct. 3) faces the University of Calgary on Sunday, Oct. 6 in Lethbridge at 2:15 p.m.

The women’s team meets the University of Saskatchewan tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 5) in Lethbridge at 12 p.m. before hosting the University of Regina on Sunday at noon.

The men’s basketball team faces Medicine Hat College at 6 p.m. tonight (Friday, Oct. 4) in Stirling, then travel to Medicine Hat for a rematch with the Rattlers tomorrow at 6 p.m.

The women’s club is in action tonight against the University of Saskatchewan in Regina at 8 p.m., then a meeting with Concordia University (Quebec) at 5 p.m. tomorrow and the University of Regina at 1 p.m. Sunday. All games take place in Regina.

On the ice – the women’s hockey team has a back-to-back against the University of Manitoba in Lethbridge. The first game is tonight at 7 p.m., with the second game tomorrow at 1 p.m.

The men’s hockey team has the weekend off and will host the University of Regina Oct. 11 and 12.

The school’s ringette team competes against HEAT tomorrow at the ATB Centre in West Lethbridge. The first game is scheduled for 11 a.m. with the second at 2:30 p.m.

On the links – the Pronghorns golf team competes at the Canada West Championships this weekend. The tournament is being held at the Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna, British Columbia.

The U of L women’s rugby team faces the University of Alberta Pandas. The Horns will have home advantage in Lethbridge tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 5) at 3 p.m.
