Lethbridge siblings bring back hardware from national soccer tournament

EDMONTON, AB – Two Lethbridge siblings have come back home with medals around their necks.

Keira and Lucas (15) McCulloch competed in the Under-15 Canada Soccer Toyota National Championships Oct. 9 to 14.

Keira and the Foothills team claimed gold after going undefeated in five games on route to beating AS Brossard of Quebec 4-2 in the finals on Monday, Oct. 14.

McCulloch scored two goals in the gold medal match.

Lucas was playing with the boys Foothills club and helped them earn a silver in the tournament, coming up short in the finals against the St. Alberta Impact. Final score was 2-1 in favour of the Impact.

In addition to the gold medal, Keira came away with the Golden Boot Award – given to the highest scoring player of the tournament.
