Addison, Cozens named to Team WHL for CIBC Canada Russia Series

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A couple of Lethbridge Hurricanes players will represent the WHL in a series of games against players from Russia.

Calen Addison and Dylan Cozens have been named to Team WHL for the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series. Addison represented the league last year.

In both games of the series, he went pointless with two penalty minutes and three shots on goal. So far this season, the 19-year-old has appeared in nine games with the ‘Canes – registering seven points (two goals, five assists) along with 12 penalty minutes.

Over 211 career regular season games with the Hurricanes, he’s tallied 170 points, with 33 goals and 137 assists and 171 penalty minutes.

18-year-old Cozens represented Team WHL in last year’s series as well. He skated in two games and scored one goal. He’s suited up in eight games for Lethbridge this season, scoring seven goals and recording five assists along with six penalty minutes.

He’s played in 136 regular season games with the Hurricanes, totalling 150 career point (64 goals, 86 assists) along with 56 penalty minutes.

This will be the fourth straight season that a Lethbridge Hurricane will represent Team WHL in the CIBC Canada Russia Series. Past participants include:

2018 – Calen Addision, Dylan Cozens, Jordy Bellerive

2017 – Stuart Skinner

2016 – Giorgio Estephan

20 players were named to Team WHL for the two-game series. The first game will take place November 13 in Saskatoon and the second on November 14 in Prince Albert.

Last year, the WHL squad split a pair of games with Russia.
