LETHBRIDGE, AB – All aboard the CP Holiday Train!

The Canadian Pacific Railway initiative will bring a train, decked out in holiday lights and decorations, across the country. One of the communities being treated to the show is Lethbridge.

The Canadian train will leave Montreal on November 26 and will follow CP’s tracks west to Vancouver.

The Holiday Train stops in Lethbridge on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m., with a musical performance by Terri Clark starting at 7:15.

After this, it will make three other stops in southern Alberta on December 11th.

This includes Fort MacLeod’s Level Railway Crossing station from 9:15 am to 945 am, Pincher Creek from 10:35 am to 11:15 am, and Coleman from 12:40 pm to 1:15 pm.

Terri Clark, originally from Medicine Hat, is a three-time JUNO Award winner. She’s also the only Canadian female named as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Clarke’s received 19 CCMA Awards and is a member of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.

Residents can check out the train and Clark’s show at 2 Avenue North and 12 Street, behind the Save-on-Foods. Following the stop-over in Lethbridge, the train will move on the Fort McLeod, Pincher Creek and Coleman before making its way to British Columbia.

Before Clark hops on the train, prior dates will feature performances from Madeline Merlo and Scott Helman.

Acadian folk-music group Vishtèn will perform at stops in Quebec.

The train’s tour will wrap up on December 17 in Port Coquitlam, B.C.

U.S. TRAIN

CP Rail’s Holiday Train also features a locomotive traveling through the United States, with selected stops in Canada. The U.S. train will leave Montreal on November 25 and feature Alan Doyle and Beautiful Band performing in communities in New York and southern Ontario.

As with the Canadian train tour, Vishtèn will perform at stops in Quebec.

Kelly Prescott, Tanika Charles and country star Meghan Patrick will hop on the tour in Chicago as the train finished its journey back to Canada with a final show in Gleichen, Alberta on December 18.

A GOOD CAUSE

The initiative will help raise awareness on the importance of food banks and collect donations for food banks across North America.

The CP Holiday Train has now raised more than $15.8 million Canadian and has collected 4.5 million pounds of food since its first journey in 1999.
