Election 2019 stand-out elements
LETHBRIDGE — In terms of voter turns out, it wasn’t the worst Canada has seen – 64.9 percent.
The Liberals have won another election but, this time, it is a minority and it will come with conflict, with a country deeply divided.
The Liberals won more seats (156) than the Conservatives (122), however, the Conservative’s garnered more of the popular vote 34.5% to the Liberal’s 33%).
In his election speech, Justin Trudeau focused on his win and claimed his party has a clear mandate, with the population supporting Liberal principles and ideals. However, he may be picking up where he left off, as he ignored the fact that two-thirds of the country didn’t vote for the liberals.
