Vehicle theft and crash results in charges against local trio

LETHBRIDGE –– Three Lethbridge men face a string of charges after an alleged break and entre and theft of a vehicle Wednesday evening. The incident began around 5:40, when officers were sent to a break and entre complaint on the south side, that resulted in the theft of a Buick Enclave SUV.

Enroute to the call, police located the vehicle in a parking lot along the 2000 block of Mayor Magrath Drive south. The vehicle attempted to flee but the driver lost control and struck a steel parking barrier.

Police indicate they surrounded the vehicle, before the occupants could exit and all were taken into custody.

However, a witness told LNN that two other vehicle occupants were in the Rona store and were arrested by police there. A Rona staff member confirmed that two people were arrested in the store.

No one was injured.

Three of the vehicle occupants have been charged.

Levi Cyprian Harris, aged 22, is charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, breach of a recognizance and breach of probation. He is awaiting a judicial interim release.

Alexander Roxby Styra, aged 19, is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, mischief. He was released to appear in Court Nov. 27

Nevada Deuce Vander Meer, aged 25, is charged with breach of a recognizance and is awaiting a judicial interim release.
