Vehicle theft and crash results in charges against local trio
LETHBRIDGE –– Three Lethbridge men face a string of charges after an alleged break and entre and theft of a vehicle Wednesday evening. The incident began around 5:40, when officers were sent to a break and entre complaint on the south side, that resulted in the theft of a Buick Enclave SUV.
Enroute to the call, police located the vehicle in a parking lot along the 2000 block of Mayor Magrath Drive south. The vehicle attempted to flee but the driver lost control and struck a steel parking barrier.
Police indicate they surrounded the vehicle, before the occupants could exit and all were taken into custody.
However, a witness told LNN that two other vehicle occupants were in the Rona store and were arrested by police there. A Rona staff member confirmed that two people were arrested in the store.
