LETHBRIDGE, AB – A man involved in a Thanksgiving Weekend foot chase throughout Hardieville with Lethbridge Police, has been sentenced in Lethbridge Provincial Court.

44-year-old Clinton Brian Daniels was sentenced to 75 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to resisting a peace officer and for assault relating to a landlord/tenant situation that became violent.

According to an Agreed Statement of Facts, around 4:00 p.m. Oct. 12, a Lethbridge Police Officer said he saw the accused in a Ford mini van. Another officer noticed Daniels had outstanding warrants and stopped the vehicle.

Daniels was the passenger in the Ford, but when asked to exit, he refused and told the female driver to drive away. She refused and got out of the vehicle. Daniels then tried to manoeuvre his way to the driver’s side, but police noticed there was a small child in the back seat.

A taser was deployed, but Daniels pulled out the probes and escaped the vehicle through the passenger door. He then jumped over a fence and went onto the roof of a home and several backyards. A police dog was sent out after him, as Daniels climbed a fence, fell and broke his leg. He was arrested shortly after, and EMS was called.

With time served, Daniels has about 49 days left in jail.
