Warrant issued for man wanted in connection with weapons incident

LETHBRIDGE – UPDATE (3:08 pm): Sgt. Bruce Hagel has confirmed that Krahn was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

A weapon was seized from him, which is believed to be the one used in the incident.

Krahn is in custody and awaiting a judicial interim release hearing.

Police have a warrant out for the arrest of a 22-year-old man after a firearm was pointed at staff members of a west side business.

Around 6:18-pm on Tuesday (Oct. 29), officers responded to Shoppers Drug Mart in the 100 block of Columbia Boulevard West after reports that a man had entered the store, was unhappy with the service he received and after briefly leaving, returned and pointed a firearm at staff.

No one was injured and the man fled prior to police arrival. The man was identified as someone known to police after they reviewed video surveillance.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of David Guenther Krahn, who is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, uttering threats, use of a firearm while committing an offense and pointing a firearm.

Police advise the public not to approach the subject. Anyone who observes Krahn or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 403-328-4444.
