U of L and Lethbridge College Weekend Sports Preview: Nov. 1-3, 2019

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Fresh off success from their soccer and cross-country teams, Lethbridge College Kodiaks athletes are feeling motivated.

Meanwhile, the U of L’s swimming club and basketball teams are in action.

LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE KODIAKS

Both the men and women’s volleyball teams are in action this weekend. The women face Olds College tonight (Nov. 1) at 6:00 p.m., with the men against the Broncos at 8:00 p.m. Tonight’s games are extra special as they’re being recognized as Women’s Cancer Awareness Games.

Tomorrow afternoon (Nov. 2), the Kodiaks have a rematch against Olds as part of Olds College Student Appreciation Night. The women play at 1:00 p.m., with the men in action at 3:00 p.m.

The Kodiaks basketball teams face Ambrose University in league play tomorrow. The women hit the court at 6:00 p.m. with the men’s team versus the Lions at 8:00 p.m.

The men’s soccer team, fresh of an ACAC championship win, play in the CCAA nationals November 6 to 9 in Oshawa, Ontario.

The women’s cross-country team will compete at nationals on November 9. They’ll be led by Sophia Nowicki, who recently won her second straight ACAC championship.

U OF L PRONGHORNS

The women and men’s basketball teams are on home court this weekend, both hosting the University of Alberta. The women face the Pandas tonight (Nov. 1) at 6:00 p.m. while the men play at 8.

Tomorrow night (Nov. 2), the women take on the Pandas at 5:00 p.m. and the men are in action at 6.

Both hockey teams have the weekend off and resume play next Friday, November 8 against Mount Royal University.

The swimming club is in Vancouver tomorrow (Nov. 2) and Sunday for the Colleges Cup – West.
