Three wins in a row, as the Hurricanes down Swift Current 4-1

LETHBRIDGE — It was the first game back from a three-game road trip that produced two wins for Lethbridge, but the first period of their match against Swift Current offered no goals from either team. However, it was promising that the Canes outshot the Broncos 16-5.

The next 20-minutes belonged to the Hurricanes, who stick handled three goals in regular intervals throughout the period.

D-Jay Jerome slid the puck past Reece Klassen at 3:37, assisted by Oliver Okuliar and Ty Prefontaine, putting his team on the scoreboard. A full eight minutes later, Logan Barlage potted the next goal, putting the Canes ahead 2-0.

The final goal of the period materialized 90-seconds before the buzzer, as D-Jay Jerome potted his second of the game and his eighth of the season. Oliver Okuliar and Danila Palivko handled the assist.

After 40-minutes, the Canes were up 3-0 and had outshot the Broncos 31-13.

In the opening two minutes of the third period, Matthew Culling clipped the Canes chances of a shut-out by taking the score to 3-1.

After a couple of penalty kills and midway through the period, Dylan Cozens took the assist from D-Jay Jerome and Calen Addison, to tally his 12th goal of the season. It put the Canes up 4-1 and kept them there to the end of the game.

The Canes outshot the Broncos throughout the game with final shots at 42-21.

The Hurricanes are now 12-4-0-3 on the season. Their next game is Friday night as the Canes host the Edmonton Oil Kings.
