FORT MACLEOD, AB – A 16-year-old Calgary youth charged with one count of Break and Enter to Commit Mischief in relation to a turkey farm protest in September, did not appear in Fort Macleod Provincial court Friday, Nov. 15.

Instead, Lethbridge lawyer Wade Hlady appeared on behalf of the girl and adjourned her case until Dec. 20.

Four people were charged following an investigation into a large protest at a Hutterite turkey farm near Fort Macleod Sept.2.

According to RCMP, dozens of people gathered to protest on a Hutterite turkey farm, and along the adjacent highway. Police say several people also allegedly illegally entered one of the barns on the farm.

46-year-old Maxwell Ming Mah of Edmonton, 28-year-old Claire Buchanan of Calgary, and 24-year-old Kennadi Rae Herbert were also charged with one count of Break and Enter to Commit Mischief.

They are expected to appear in court November 27.
