Lethbridge man injured in pedestrian collision north of the city

COALDALE — Coaldale and Picture Butte RCMP and the Coalhurst Fire Department were call to a pedestrian collision along Highway 25 near township road 92, around 7:00-m Monday (Nov 18) evening.

The 43 year old man was walking northbound on the highway when he was struck by a north-bound truck driven by a 22 year old man.

The pedestrian was thrown into the east ditch. He was taken to Chinook Hospital suffering non life threatening injuries.

An initial investigation determined the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing on a dark stretch of the highway. The weather was clear and road conditions dry at the time.

There is no indication of liquor consumption on behalf of the driver or the pedestrian. The investigation continues.
