RCMP lay charge in fatal Highway 3 collision

COALDALE, AB – RCMP in Coaldale have charged a Lethbridge man in connection with a two-vehicle fatal collision Monday evening.

On November 25, a 66-year-old Coalhurst woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 3 at the intersection leading into Coalhurst.

36-year-old Wesley Brian Phillips has been charged with Refusal to Provide a Blood Sample, a criminal code impaired driving related offence. In a release Wednesday morning, Coaldale RCMP said Phillips is compelled to attend Lethbridge Provincial Court on January 17, 2020.

Mounties are still in the early stages of the investigation and noted that additional charges may be laid.
