U of L and Lethbridge College Weekend Sports Recap: Nov. 29-Dec. 1, 2019

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College and U of L teams wrapped up first semester play this past weekend, ahead of a well-deserved holiday break. Here’s a recap of this weekend’ action.

LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE KODIAKS

The women’s basketball team followed up a Thursday night win with another victory in Calgary against SAIT on Friday night (Nov. 29). Final score was 56-47, with Denajha Kie leading in scoring for Lethbridge with 14 points.

The men’s team was also able to follow a Thursday victory with a 99-83 win on Friday night against the Trojans. Both teams are back in action on Thursday, January 9 against Medicine Hat.

Four players were in double figures, with Brock Dewsbery leading that charge with 22 points.

The men’s volleyball team beat Ambrose University Friday night 3-0 and followed that with a 3-2 win on Saturday. The women’s team didn’t fare as well against Ambrose.

They lost 3-1 on Friday and 3-0 on Saturday.

The volleyball clubs face Red Deer College on Friday, January 10.

U OF L PRONGHORNS

The men’s basketball team was in Vancouver this weekend, up against the University of British Columbia. On Friday, they lost 109-86 before an 88-80 loss to UBC on Saturday.

The women’s team lost 76-54 on Friday and fell by only three points, 58-55 on Saturday.

Both ball clubs are in Lethbridge against the University of Regina on Friday, January 3.

The women’s hockey team was in Winnipeg and lost to the University of Manitoba 3-1 Friday and 2-1 on Saturday. The men’s team was against the University of Manitoba, but in Lethbridge.

They lost 3-1 Friday before a 6-3 victory on Saturday.

The hockey teams are against the University of Regina on Friday, January 3.
