Southern Alberta MP named Agriculture and Agri-Food Shadow Minister

LETHBRIDGE — Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer unveiled his shadow cabinet Friday (Nov 22), where he named Alberta Foothills M-P John Barlow as Shadow Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.

Barlow most recently served as the Shadow Minister for Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and previously worked as the Associate Ag Critic during the last Federal government term.

Barlow says he will work to educate the Liberal’s Agriculture Minister, Marie-Claude Bibeau, on challenges such as trade and the grain backlog on rail.

Working with Barlow will be the Conservative’s Associate Ag Critic, Quebec MP Richard Lehoux.

Barlow has also worked as Shadow Minister of Employment, Workforce Development, and Labour. He previously held the role as Associate Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Agri-Food for a year as well as sat on the Standing Committee of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
