Hurricanes trade Rylan Thiessen for 2020 draft pick

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes are gearing up for the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.

They traded 18-year-old Thiessen to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a sixth-round pick next year.

The defenseman was undrafted last year before being signed by Lethbridge.

Thiessen, who is originally from Brandon, played 22 games so far this season with the Hurricanes, collecting three assists with a plus-four rating and two penalty minutes.

The move trims Lethbridge’s roster down to 22 players, including 13 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders.
