LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns have announced the third signing for the 2020-2021 women’s hockey season.

Forward Madeleine (Maddy) Noonan has committed to the team. She joins her current Calgary Fire teammate Emma Neff and is the sister of current Pronghorn Rose Noonan.

The five-foot-four Calgary player has recorded two goals and two assists in 14 games this season with the Alberta Female Hockey League (AFHL) team. Last season, she scored eight goals and had four assists in 30 games. She also took part in the Alberta Hockey U18 Summer Camp this past summer.

Noonan not only rocks the rink but is an accomplished star in both track and field and lacrosse. In 2017, she made Team Alberta for lacrosse, participated in nationals in Halifax and helped the team secure a bronze medal. She’s also been a member of three provincial championship teams in female box lacrosse.

She participated in the hockey program at the Global Sports Academy the past two seasons and plans to pursue an education degree at the U of L, according to a release from Pronghorn Athletics and Recreation.

Mallory Dyer was also announced as a member of the Pronghorns’ recruiting class, after committing to the team in October.

The Pronghorns will be back in action on Friday, January 3 when they host the University of Regina.
