Horse killed in collision south of Lethbridge

Dec 18, 2019 | 11:53 AM

RAYMOND, AB – Raymond-Magrath RCMP are reporting a collision that resulted in the death of a horse.

Corporal Don Nelson says it happened at approximately 5:15 pm on Tuesday, December 17th near the intersection of Highway 5 and Range Road 70. This is just over 16 km south of the Lethbridge Airport.

It appears as though the horse got out of field in which it resided and entered the roadway.

The driver was sent to hospital to be treated for minor injuries but has since been released.

RCMP are trying to reach out to the owner of the horse.

The attending officer is off until next week and was not able to complete their report prior to leaving, so Nelson says there might still be additional details that have not been compiled.
