OSTRAVA, CZE – Team Canada finished first in Group B at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship Tuesday after toppling Czech Republic 7-2.

Dylan Cozens, a star player with the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes, dominated the scoreboard for the Great White North.

He made one goal and added three assists. In Cozen’s goal, he was assisted by his Hurricane counterpart Calen Addison.

Following the contest, Cozens spoke with TSN about the game and being able to take advantage of four power plays.

“We’ve seen how important discipline is in this tournament and we know we’re going to have to work for our power plays. It was really good today.”

Quarterfinals are set to begin on Thursday, January 2nd. Canada is scheduled to face Slovakia at 10:00 am MST.

Cozens says the key will be maintaining the team’s discipline and tightening up their defence if they want to advance even further.
