LPS lay charges in vehicle thefts and hit-and runs
LETHBRIDGE — A 31-year old city man faces an initial 14 charges in relation to vehicle thefts and several hit-and-run incidents.
On Thursday (Jan 16), officers attempted to arrest a man who had allegedly stolen a Ford F-350, as the vehicle was driven away from a south-side convenience store. However, when the suspect refused stop, police discontinued the chase due to public safety.
The following day (Jan 17), police received numerous calls about the same vehicle being involved in three separate hit-and-runs on the south side.
The heavily damaged truck was located in Coaldale, where the suspect ditched the vehicle and stole another half-ton truck. The suspect returned to Lethbridge and eventually abandoned the second vehicle.
