U of L dedicates Elders Room to former Elder in Residence
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge has paid tribute to a fallen Elder.
The U of L has renamed its Elders Room as the Carolla Calf Robe Elders and Ceremony Room. For 11 years, Carolla (Napiakii) Calf Robe served as an Elder in Residence at the university.
She passed away in May of 2019. As an Iniskim Elder, she would be on campus to offer support and guidance to the U of L community.
“Carolla Calf Robe was a beloved and cherished Elder who selflessly served the University of Lethbridge community, coming in twice a month, September through April, each year,” said Andrea Amelinckx, Chair of the Dhillon School of Business – Indigenous Governance & Business Management Program, in a release from the university.
