LETHBRIDGE, AB – If you know of someone in Lethbridge between the ages of five and 24 who have made volunteer contributions in the city, Volunteer Lethbridge wants to know.

The nomination period for the Leaders of Tomorrow awards has opened.

The Volunteer Recognition Award recognizes youth who have “demonstrated the spirit of volunteerism and inspired others.”

The Volunteer Excellence Award “distinguishes youth who have gone above and beyond for their community while demonstrating acts of leadership, initiative, dedication, and inspiration to others.”

A maximum of eight Excellence Awards are given out each year.

“We invite individuals, community groups, local businesses, educational institutions, and volunteer organizations to nominate any young person that has demonstrated the spirit of volunteerism and inspired others,” says Volunteer Lethbridge.

Both the nominee and the nominator will have to provide a brief paragraph on how the youth has impacted their organization or community, while the nominee will provide a record of their volunteer activities to all agencies they are a part of.

The last day to submit a nomination is March 1st.

The winners will be announced at the Award Gala on Wednesday, April 22nd at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge.

The nomination form can be accessed on Volunteer Lethbridge’s website here.
