LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: Lethbridge Police investigate source of bomb threat believed to be a hoax

The Lethbridge College campus was evacuated Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 28), after what Lethbridge Police and College officials said was a report of a “threat.”

It’s not clear at this time what the cause or source of the possible threat may be. Lethbridge Police and the College have released few details.

A statement was issued by the College on social media, directing everyone to leave, and for anyone planning on coming to campus, to stay away. The following is the message in its entirety:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we need to evacuate the Lethbridge College campus immediately. The campus will be closed for the remainder of the day. Everyone on campus should pack up their belongings and leave in an orderly manner. If you are not on campus, please avoid campus for the rest of the day. Please check the college’s website and social media for the status of operations tomorrow.
