Two Lethbridge men facing charges after LPS drug bust

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have charged two men following a drug bust.

Police say that on January 30, after a short-term investigation into drug trafficking activity, a warrant was obtained and executed by the Lethbridge Police Service’s Crime Suppression Team, Downtown Policing Unit and K9 at a residence on the 300 block of 5 Street South.

On entry, police say they found two men and seized methamphetamine, crack cocaine, scales, packaging and other drug paraphernalia, along with multiple stolen documents.

51-year-old Jeffrey Steven Martens is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of identity documents and one count of possession of stolen property.

Eric Joel Michaud, a 34-year-old Lethbridge man, is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both individuals are in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
