UNA gets their message out during Information Walk outside of Chinook Regional Hospital

Feb 13, 2020 | 4:55 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB- Hundreds of people gathered outside the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday (Feb 13) for an information walk to support the United Nurses of Alberta and get the message out that they are here to fight for their rights.

Gathering at the South entrance of the hospital, many nurses and other Alberta Health workers waved flags and brought out the signs to let it be known to the Alberta government that the UNA will do everything they can to resolve this issue.

Friends and families also gathered to show support for the UNA and all the jobs that they are responsible for.

Local UNA Leader Margie Emes told media that they are willing to brave the cold as long as it takes to see changes.

Emes knows that the Kenney government can reduce the cuts to their specific needs and once the 2020 budget it released the UNA will have a better picture of what that will look like.

Lethbridge News Now was on scene to capture the information walk.

When the 2020 budget numbers come out later in the month, the UNA and the government will have a better look at what the cuts could look like.
