Lethbridge company warns of “duct cleaning scam” on Facebook

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Breathe Easy Heating & Air Conditioning is warning of a scam making the rounds on social media.

A representative from the company told LNN that the scammer is posing as a member of the company on Facebook, supposedly offering duct cleaning services at a significant discount.

The scammer asks people to send them a private message on Facebook where they would then discuss the details of the alleged service, get the person’s information, and ask for a cash deposit upfront.

From there, the scammer blocks the victim from all social media profiles so as to not be contacted by them again.

Owner Mike Gervais posted a video to the company’s Facebook page to warn the public about the scam.
