Lethbridge College keeping campus open, no disruptions to classes

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Both of Lethbridge’s post-secondary schools will try to stay “business as usual” in the COVID-19 pandemic for now.

According to a statement from Lethbridge College, they are “actively monitoring the worldwide outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19”

At this time, the school says there have been no suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 linked to any member of the Lethbridge College community.

“Our campus remains open, with no disruptions to normal classes or business operations.”

At the same time, the College will consider changing this if the situation locally worsens.

“If the situation changes in our local community, Lethbridge College will follow the guidance of Alberta Health Services and the region’s Chief Medical Health Officer to decide on the best course of action.”

Some college-related events have been cancelled, while others are ongoing as scheduled.

The University of Lethbridge made a similar announcement Thursday, saying they plan to keep the school open but could switch some courses to an online model if needed.
